thanks for pointing to this interesting passage.

I have just verified that the Cilap. text has

கரியவன் புகையினும் புகைக்கொடி தோன்றினும்
(Cilap., Canto X, line 102)

That is why the IFP Index de Mot de la Litérature Ancienne has no entry 
for சனி ....

The word used is கரியவன்
(which the commentator identifies with சனி)

That is interesting
