Dear Madhav,
I can't speak for Aṅgulimāla and Aññākoṇḍañña but the name Maitrāyaṇīputra
occurs often in Buddhist Sanskrit texts as the name of the monk Pūrṇa
(Puṇṇa Mantāṇīputta/Mantāṇiputta in Pali). Maybe that is helpful in some
way?
Best wishes,
Charlie
