Dear Aleksandar,

The verse
ṣaraṃ pradhānam amṛtākṣaraṃ haraḥ kṣarātmānāv īśate deva ekaḥ /
tasyābhidhyānād yojanāt tattvabhāvād bhūyaś cānte viśvamāyānivṛttiḥ // 1.10 //
Is found in the Śvetāśvatara Upaniṣad [1.10].

So this is not a classical composition, and therefore not subject to the rules of classical meters. We have to treat it as a late Vedic verse form.

Dear friends,

Has any of you encountered a meter with the following structure:

a: ja bha ja ra
b: ya ta ta ga ga
c: ma ma ya ya
d: ma ta ta ga ga

Quarters c and d correspond to vaiśvadevī and śālinī, but a and b I cannot identify in Apte, though b seems a variation of śālinī with the first syllable laghu.

Any help appreciated.

Best wishes,
Aleksandar
