[INDOLOGY] Tagore Quote

Dear Chris,

The 6th poem of Stray Birds has this aphorism:

IF you shed tears when you miss the sun, you also miss the stars. (6)


The bengali original (beoẏāriśa pākhirā) of the above aphorism is as
follows:

দিনান্তে সূর্যাস্ত দেখে, যদি তুমি অশ্রুসিক্ত হও;
রাতের আকাশ ভালে তারাদের বন্ধু তুমি নও। (‘বেওয়ারিশ পাখিরা’: 6)

In IAST:

dinānte sūryāsta dekhe, yadi tumi aśrusikta hao;
rātera ākāśa bhāle tārādera bandhu tumi nao । (beoẏāriśa pākhirā: 6)
