<These terms seem to find a place in Tamil literature as “uttara”
and “takshiṇa.”

The term “taccar” appears in Old Tamil referring to Greek carpenters,
specifically Ionia (“yavaṉa-t-taccar”).>
But cf., uttariiya 'upper outer decorative garment, a wrapper' and tasar
'silk'.
