On the technical term "pra t īka"

Not to complicate matters, but while Stefan suggests:


 What we really need,

Would not it be helpful to either distinguish 3 & 4, or 3a 3b, namely at
least in the Buddhist case (but I imagine elsewhere too) between scriptural
and śāstric quotation?
