volume 1 of Daryush Shayegan's "Adyan va maktabha-ye falsafi-e Hend" [Religions and Philosophical Schools of India], Tehran: Moassese-ye entesharat-e Amir Kabir, 1346/1976-77, contains two introductory chapters on Buddhism: pp. 120-182, and 343-430.
