Dear Tim
This is Dipti Tripathi President of IASS. I was formerly the Director of National Manuscript Mission, project of Ministry of Culture, GOI. Prof. Shukla had worked in close collaboration with NMM and his institution was a manuscript resource centre for the project.
I understand Prof. Shukla donated his personal library including Manuscripts in his collection to Siddhartha University. This is located on the Indian side of Indo Nepal border. It is around sixty kilometres from Gorakhpur.
Hope this helps you in finding what you are looking for.
Best wishes
Dipti Tripathi

Greetings,
The above foundation was founded by Prof. Karuṇesh Shukla who also published a handlist/catalogue of its manuscript collection. (I attach a partial scan of the catalogue --all that I have.)

The collection (of about 1k mss) was housed in Andhiari Bagh when I visited in 2022. After Prof. Shukla passed a couple years back it was moved --perhaps to Gorakhpur University, but I have no confirmation of this. Anyone info on what happened to the collection would be most welcome.

I should add that the collection does not contain many Buddhist texts, despite the name of the foundation. Its strongest area, as I recall, was grammar.

Best wishes,
Tim Cahill
