There are lots of great, richly-populated Unicode fonts around nowadays, and one is spoiled for choice. I like
Libertinus Sans and Serif (whose characters are width-for-with identical with Times New Roman) for workaday applications, and TeX Gyre Pagella (and the whole Gyre family) for a bit more sophistication. Pagella is used for the
HSSA journal. But I think a special shout-out is deserved for
Junicode, which is actively maintained and goes from strength to strength. It's squarely aimed at medievalists, but it handles almost all our needs too, and looks great. I like the historical sensitivity that's gone into its design. Gandhari is good too, of course.
