Dear List members,
In Caṅkam poetry the word kutirai for "horse" is relatively rare, compared to
puravi and ivul̥i. If originally the latter two words referred to a special type or aspect of the horse in question (like colour) they have come to be used as general words for "horse" in, e.g.
puravittēvar, the Aśvins, and ivul̥ittāmaṉ, Aśvatthāman. I would like to know if there is some literature about the two words?
