Greetings from the Centre for Digital Humanities (CDH), MAHE-Bengaluru.

We are delighted to announce the First Summer School on Sanskrit Computational Linguistics, organised by the Centre for Digital Humanities, MAHE-B’LRU, in association with the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur (IIT-KGP), to be held from 22–27 June 2026 at MAHE-Bengaluru. This event is sponsored by the Central Sanskrit University, New Delhi.

This week-long summer school introduces participants to the emerging interdisciplinary domain that integrates Indian grammatical theories with modern computational techniques. The major focus of the summer school is to initiate participants in building prototypes or small modules to solve contemporary, relevant problems in the field of Sanskrit Computational Linguistics. There will be lectures by eminent scholars and researchers in the field, providing sufficient background on the Indian Grammatical Tradition relevant to computational linguistics, an introduction to Python, and modern AI tools to carry out the projects. Registration Fees:

Students: ₹2,000
Faculty Members: ₹5,000
Working Professionals: ₹8,000

Please note that participation is limited to 60 selected participants only. The selected participants will receive further communication regarding the next steps. The last date to express interest is 25 May 2026.
