Dear colleagues,
Some of you are already aware of the sorrowful news of Daniel Gold’s death on February 16, 2026. Today this loss was announced by Cornell University Arts
and Sciences.
One of Daniel’s colleagues in Asian Studies is at work on an essay describing his many and varied scholarly contributions in greater depth. I will share
that when it emerges.
Even as we mourn, his sons and I are grateful he died peacefully at Ithaca’s Hospicare residence.
