The Association Jeunes Études Indiennes (AJEI), in collaboration with the Centre for South Asian and Himalayan Studies (CESAH), is pleased to announce its upcoming workshop in South Asian Studies on the theme: “States, Religion, and Bodies: Current Issues in South Asian Medical Social Sciences.”

The workshop will be held 20–21 January 2026 at Campus Condorcet (Paris–Aubervilliers).This event is open to Master’s and PhD students from all social science disciplines working on South Asia. It aims to provide participants with a space for constructive academic exchange in a collegial environment, as well as opportunities to interact with senior scholars in the field.

Application Process
Applicants are invited to submit a single document including:
• Institutional affiliation
• Thesis title and supervisor’s name
• Title of the proposed paper
• A 250-word abstract

Applications should be sent to ajei.office@gmail.com by 19 December 2025 MIDNIGHT CET

Please note that participants must be available to attend the workshop in person.

Organizers will notify all applicants of the results by 24 December 2025. Successful candidates will be expected to become members of the AJEI.
