Dear colleagues,

A colleague involved with the Teaching Antiquity Symposium asked me to share the following announcement, with the note that the organizers are trying to involve more scholars of antiquity from outside of those disciplines and areas traditionally associated with "classical studies." I hope some of you may find it to be of interest.

Best regards,

Tyler Williams

Global Antiquities Northwestern invites abstracts for papers to be delivered at its second “Teaching Antiquity Symposium” this spring. We hope again to bring together instructors and curators of diverse regional and disciplinary specializations to discuss contemporary developments in the teaching of ancient cultures, to share ideas and challenges with a broad range of college and museum based scholars. We invite submissions that help us reflect on how we can learn from each other to enhance how we teach and display the ancient cultures that we study.

Topics may include but are not limited to:

● teaching the past beyond the Mediterranean

● teaching the past in global perspective
