Dear Colleagues,
I hope you're all doing well!
I would like to draw your attention to an upcoming event hosted by
Global Antiquities at Northwestern University. The second
"Teaching Antiquity Symposium" will take place on April 18th, 2026, at Northwestern University on the Evanston campus.
The event aims to bring together instructors and curators to share ideas and discuss contemporary developments in the teaching of ancient cultures, including ancient India.
The symposium is currently inviting the submission of abstracts for papers which should be submitted to me (yannicklambert2028@u.northwestern.edu).
All scholars with a college or museum affiliation are welcome to submit, and
graduate student submissions are also encouraged. For complete details on the submission process, abstract requirements, and the full range of topics, please
see the attached Call for Papers (CFP).
Topics are varied and include teaching ancient languages, teaching beyond the Mediterranean, and digital approaches to antiquity, among others.
The submission deadline is December 1, 2025.
The symposium will also feature a keynote address by Professor Clara Bosak-Shroeder of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
Please feel free to share as widely as you like in your departments.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Many thanks,
Yannick Lambert
