Dear Indolgists,
In the Kulacūḍāmaṇitantra (3.62) according to L.M. Finn trans.(1986) and to the Girīsha Chandra Vedāntatīrtha ed. (1915)
At Ṭhehāra Kāmarūpā and Dikkaravāsinī are to be worshipped (Finn trans.)
Skt.: kāmarūpāntu ṭhehāre pūjyā dikkaravāsinī
I am curious to know if anybody found in any text the Ṭhehāra pitha, because I am unable to locate it, although it should be an Assamese site. It does not appear in Sircar (1948) work on pīṭhas and I never found it during my studies on
Kāmākhyā. The fact that there is also worshipped
Dikkaravāsinī let me to suppose that it is an eastern assamese site (cf.
Shastri ed. and trans. of Kālikāpurāṇa
80.36ff.)
Best wishes,
Paolo
