Dear Colleagues,

We are delighted to announce the second edition of the Conversational Tamil Summer School, which will be held over three weeks from August 7 to 28, 2025 at Bharathiar University in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.

This program is a collaborative initiative between the Center for South Asian and Himalayan Studies (CESAH), Paris, the French Institute of Pondicherry (IFP), and Bharathiar University.

You can find full details in the attached poster. The summer school offers two course levels: intermediate and advanced. These courses are especially tailored for students and researchers in the social sciences, though anyone with a few months of prior exposure to the Tamil language is welcome to apply.

The fee for the intensive three-week program is approximately €750. This includes accommodation and two meals per day (breakfast and lunch). Fee reductions may be available in certain cases.

The application deadline is in the third week of May.
