Dear List Members,
Quite a number of years ago I saw on television (if I remember well, the BBC) a documentary made by the anthropology Department of an American University (Berkeley?) about the organisation of the Kumbh Mela. I made DVD of it, but the tape was done away with, with many others, as we had done away with our DVD player. I do not remember the title of the documentary nor the person or institution who made it. I am looking for these details and in particular would like to know if the documentary is available somewhere (Netflix, You Tube).
Ved Mehta wrote an interesting report of a Kimbh Mela he participated in (and that for a man who was practically blind!). If I remember well, it has appeared in Portrait of India. I am unable to check as at the moment my books are in boxes as we are going to move house soon.
With kind regards, Herman
