Hoḍa in Sanskrit means ‘boat’ - it is a loan from Dravidian ōṭam ‘boat’ (h- stands for the glottal stop that precedes initial vowels in North Dravidian). Could hoḍa cakra be related to the ‘boat pose’ (nāvāsana) related to the maṇipūra cakra?

Dear Friends,

I am looking for information on the Avakahaḍa or Hoḍa Cakra. All that I could find on the net was a reference to an article in Jyotish Digest, 3rd Quarter 2012, but when I tried to access it, my computer went wild with warnings about possible identity theft, so I left it alone.

Does anyone know anything about this?

thanks in advance,
Matthew
