Two new etexts from the Muktabodha/IFP collaborative project have been added to the Muktabodha digital library.
They are (with descriptions from Deviprasad Mishra of the IFP)
Ṣoḍaśasubrahmanyadhyānam
and
Mannāthaśyāmalāpratiṣṭhāvidhi
RE10778 Ṣoḍaśasubrahmanyadhyānam. This bundle contains three different portions covering dissimilar aspects of devotion and astrology. The first portion deals with Ṣoḍaśasubrahmaṇyadhyānam, describes sixteen distinct forms of Lord Subrahmaṇya through meditative verses. The second part contains, Pañcaviṃśati-maheśvararūpabheda, it also presents Dhyānaśloka-s for 25 unique forms of Lord Śiva, offering awareness into varied representations and contemplative practices. The final slice reads, Jātakaśiromaṇiḥ, which is an astrological text detailing the twelve bhāvās (houses) of the Jātakacakra (horoscope wheel); however, this section appears to be incomplete.
The bundle contains 30 folios and there are 5 to 6 lines in each folio. This manuscript serves as a valuable resource, blending devotional content with astrological insights, and is particularly useful for scholars exploring Śaiva iconography and early Jyotiṣa traditions.
RE32415 Mannāthaśyāmalāpratiṣṭhāvidh. This bundle comprises two significant chapters from the illustrious Śaiva texts. The first chapter is Mannāthaśyāmalāpratiṣṭhāvidhi from the Sakalāgamasaṅgraha, which is a supplementary text to the Śaivāgama, detailing the elaborate procedures for the consecration of Mannātha (my God). The second chapter is Cāmuṇdāpūjāvidhi from the Rauravāgama, one of the 28 Mūla Śaivāgamas, which outlines the ritualistic procesure for the worship of Goddess Cāmuṇḍā.
The bundle contains 30 folios and there are 5 lines in each folio. The size of this bundle is 31 cm / 3 cm. This manuscript provides valuable insights into the consecration and worship practices prescribed in the Śaivāgamic tradition, offering a detailed guide for ritual experts and scholars studying the ceremonial intricacies of the Siddhānta Śaivism.
