Hi Matthew,

My suggestion is for indologists (or any Asian studies scholars) talk to their librarian or library director. BAS is subscribed by 300+ research libraries across Europe, Asia and the rest of the world. Published by a scholarly association (AAS) and one of the least expensive databases out there, it’s considered an indispensable multidisciplinary research resource for any institution with credible focus on Asia. All the librarians I know direct their Asian studies scholars and students to it as the best starting point for their research.

I believe any institution can subscribe to the BAS itself (via EBSCO) even if not going for the entire EBSCO package. There are also inexpensive individual subscriptions available.

David

Many thanks, David,

However, my institutional access in France does not include EBSCO, which hosts the BAS. I suspect that many others on this list will also find that they do not have access.

Any suggestions?

all best,
Matthew

A quick search in the online Bibliography of Asian Studies (from the Association for Asian Studies) finds 10 articles (journal articles and book chapters) on Vācaspati, most linked to available full-text.. See brief citations below.
