Dear colleagues, students and Malayalam enthusiasts,

I would like to draw your attention to the international workshop Malayalam in Performance: Texts and Contexts, which will take place from 12.-15.2.2024 in Tübingen in hybrid format (i.e. workshop participants are in Tübingen, online participation is possible) – details attached. The workshop is co-chaired by Dr Ophira Gamliel (School of Critical Studies, University of Glasgow) and myself as part of the Tübingen "Gundert Chair“ programme for Malayalam and Kerala studies.

The morning sessions ("Grammar & Exercises") are part of the course "Malayalam Aufbaustufe 1" and not open to the public.

In the afternoon sessions, doctoral students and postdocs present their texts in context and read, translate and discuss text excerpts together with the group. In order to maintain the workshop atmosphere, I would like to ask interested persons to register with me personally in advance: heike.oberlin@uni-tuebingen.de. Therefore, a Zoom link is not published on the flyer. A sound basic knowledge of Malayalam is a prerequisite for participation. There are no participation fees.

Kind regards,
Heike Oberlin and Ophira Gamliel
