Expected start date in position : 1st August 2023
Contract length : 1 year, renewable 2 x 2 years, maximum 5 years
Activity rate : 80%
Workplace : Université de LausanneYour responsibilities
MA (or equivalent) in Indian Studies, Buddhist Studies or a related discipline.
Interest to write a thesis related to the history of premodern India or to the history of Indian Buddhism.
A good knowledge of Sanskrit is necessary.Knowledge of Middle Indic (Pali, Prakrits, Gandhari) or another Buddhist Language (Tibetan, Chinese) will be an advantage.
The University of Lausanne is a French-speaking institution. Knowledge of French is therefore desirable.Your qualifications
50% min. will be dedicated to the realization of a doctoral thesis in the field of Indian Studies.
50% max. will be devoted to administrative and research activities of the section, as well teaching duties.What the position offers you
