Dear Colleagues, dear All,

The Section des langues et civilisations slaves et de l’Asie du Sud (SLAS), in collaboration with the Centre de traduction littéraire (CTL), University of Lausanne, together with the poet’s son and translator Apurva Narain (New Delhi), are pleased to invite you to the first international symposium entirely devoted to the Hindi poetry of Kunwar Narain (1927-2017):

So Far, Yet So Close
Kunwar Narain’s Poetry in Translation

University of Lausanne (CH), 21-22 October 2021, on zoom

This meeting will bring together translators, researchers and artists working in ten different languages. While the author's poems will serve as the basis and common thread for the presentations, broader considerations of the aesthetic, theoretical, and editorial issues involved in translating poetry will enrich this symposium, which will also provide an opportunity to hear the author's intimate poetry in Hindi and in various languages and format

The event is public, everyone can join it. However, for organizational reasons, you are kindly requested to register at the following address:

Looking forward to meeting you on this occasion and with our best wishes,

Nicola Pozza, Angela Sanmann-Graf, Apurva Narain
