speaker, or a "son of Mother Sanskrit", to vary on Tamilttāy.

Tamil researcher" (ōr ayalakattamiḻāyvāl̥ar). Too often in Tamil publications I am referred to in this way, as a foreigner, who, by implication, has no right to say anything about Tamil.
