Dear François, you may also consult Renou's Grammaire Sanscrite p. IVX at the very top of the page, where he discusses these symbols. He mentions the descriptive names vajrākṛti and gajakumbhākṛti for the jihvāmūlīya and upadhmānīya symbols, respectively, and that the ardhavisarga is a common substitute for both.I do not know who else uses these terms but would very much like to learn about any sources in Sanskrit. All the Best,VictorDr. Victor B. In an Adyar library edition of Saṃgītaratnākara, I found this sign (see
attached document).
I would like to know:
1- what is this sign?
2- what is its unicode code?
3- how to read it?
Thank you for helping.
