The Faculty for the Study of Culture invites applications for a
Full Professorship (W3)
of Indology
(Chair)
commencing on 1st April 2019.
Applicants should be able to teach the full range of classical Indology. The focus of their research should be on Indian Buddhism; experience with Indic manuscripts will be considered an additional qualification. The position represents an essential component in the interdisciplinary program of “Buddhist Studies”. Moreover, it is an important element in the Munich Center of Ancient Worlds and the University’s Graduate School “Distant Worlds”; participation in future research programs within Ancient Studies is expected.
Prerequisites for this position are a university and a doctoral degree, teaching skills at university level, excellent academic achievements and a productive and promising research program.
