Jo(h)annes Ernestus Hanxleden and Paulinus a Sancto Bartholomaeo are remembered in Malayalam tradition as, respectively, arṇṇōsŭ pātiri (‘Father Ernest(o)’) and paulinōsŭ pātiri ('Father Paulinos').
