DEPARTMENT OF HISTORY OF ART, UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA, BERKELEY, seeks to appoint an Assistant Professor of South Asian or Southeast Asian Art (tenure-track), effective July 1, 2012.  Ph.D. required. The successful candidate will teach a range of undergraduate and graduate courses. A broad perspective on art of the region in the larger Asian and global context is desirable. Participation in Berkeley's Buddhist Studies Ph.D. Program is expected. The department seeks candidates whose research, teaching, or service has prepared them to contribute to our commitment to diversity and inclusion in higher education. Applications must include CV; two-page statement of research and teaching interests and experience, with brief descriptions of courses offered or proposed; one recent publication or sample of work-in-progress (~30 pages); and three letters of reference.
