Thanks, Christophe! The *Śārṅgadhara-paddhati *reference is very helpful.
It is interesting that this version has a sixth sage whose name is
efficacious for warding off lighting. And yes, K. G. Sheshadri's many
papers sound fascinating. I'll look forward to diving into some of them.
And thanks, again, to Asko for digging up my old message on the topic.
