[INDOLOGY] Isabelle Ratié elected to the Collège de France

Dear Eli,

this happy news does not prevent me to add here a slight correction (if I am myself not wrong): Louis Renou never held a Chair in Indology at the Collège de France. The "Chaire de langue et de littérature sanskrite" was successively held by Antoine-Léonard de Chézy (1815-1832), Eugène Burnouf (1832-1852), Philippe-Édouard Foucaux (1862-1894), Sylvain Lévi (1894-1935), Jules Bloch (1937-1951) and Jean Filliozat (1952-1978) with whom its title became "Chaire de langues et littératures de l'Inde". The original Chair was not really continued after him. A new Chair of "Histoire du bouddhisme" was held by André Bareau (1971-1993), and an other of "Histoire du monde indien" by Gérard Fussman (1984-2011). Something Indological at the Collège de France has been eagerly awaited ever since. This new Chair of "Histoire des systèmes de pensée de l'Inde" is a very welcome new departure.
