The Department of History at The University of Texas at Austin invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor who studies the history of modern South Asia, to begin Fall of academic year 2025-26. We welcome applications from scholars working in all relevant areas of specialization. Duties will include undergraduate and graduate teaching in the history of South Asia, research, and service to the department, college, and university.

Qualifications
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in History or other relevant fields by August 1, 2025. Preferred qualifications include a strong record of research and teaching as well as a reading knowledge of at least one South Asian language.

Applicants must upload a letter of interest, CV, a teaching statement, three letters of recommendation, and up to 3 representative publications or writing samples to Interfolio: https://apply.interfolio.com/153310. Additional materials, including a teaching portfolio, may be requested after initial review of applications.

Applications must be received no later than October 31, 2024.

Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. Position funding is subject to budget availability.
