Dear Friends,
The Department of Indian Languages and Cultures at Ghent University is
pleased to bring to your attention the possibility of fully funded doctoral
fellowships for Indological projects here at Ghent.
The FWO funded PhD Fundamental Research Fellowship
<https://www.fwo.be/en/support-programmes/all-calls/phd/phd-fellowship-fundamental-research/>
is
open to scholars holding an MA worldwide awarded within the last three
years. The call opened on Dec 5, 2024 and the deadline to submit an
application is March 3, 2025. Successful applicants start their doctoral
studies on Nov 1, 2025.
Our departmental expertise lies in mainly Sanskrit, Prakrit, and Pali
textuality, Buddhist and Jain studies, and art history and archeology.
Interested parties should contact me directly with a CV and a paragraph or
two about a potential research topic at charles.disimone at ugent.be. I will
either put them in touch with the relevant professor or if their
research aligns with my own, support them directly.
Please share this opportunity with any potentially interested students or
recent graduates from your institutions.
With my best wishes,
Charles
Prof. Dr. Charles DiSimone
