Colleagues pointed out to me that not everyone may be familiar with the institute mentioned in my previous message, the Harish-Chandra Reseach Institute (HRI) in Prayagraj (ex-Allahabad). It was named after one of the greatest mathematicians of the twentieth century, Indian or otherwise, of which a biography may be found on the site of the National Academy of Sciences
