I have no problems with Word 14.3.8 on Mac OS X version 10.8.5. I hear there are problems with OS Maverick, which I have therefore not installed. But Devanagari does not work with Word; I use Pages, and for the most part it works well with Devanagari -QWERTY keyboard that comes with the Mac.
