announcement, which may be of interest to someone out there. Lance
Announcement of Faculty Position
South and Southeast Asian Religion
SAN DIEGO STATE UNIVERSITY, Department of Religious Studies, invites
applications for a tenure-track position at assistant professor rank
in South and Southeast Asian Religion, to begin Fall semester 2005.
DEMONSTRATED INTERDISCIPLINARY TEACHING and research interests and
the ability to work well with students from diverse cultural
backgrounds as well as a commitment to teaching excellence and
scholarship are essential. Candidates should specialize in either
Hinduism or Buddhism. Applicants must have teaching competency in
both traditions as well as World Religions. Also desirable, interests
in any of the following: immigrant traditions in America, fieldwork
and ethnography, religion and ecology, or religion and psychology.
Ph.D. required. We will interview at the American Academy of Religion
in San Antonio. Applicant screening will begin November 1, 2004.
