 My thinking is the gifted shilpi from a long line of
 traditonal sculptors, Tiru. Vai. Ganapati Sthapati
 wants to invoke zAntarasam in the huge Valluvar statue at Kumari munai.

 Does not the compassionate Avalokitezvara look (almost) feminine?
