In the "Bengali Language Handbook" by P.S.Ray, M.A. Hai and L. Ray (Center
for Applied Linguistics, 1966) you will find on pages 17-19 a number of
sanskrit spellings as used for the teaching of Bengali
(for instance "hm"=hoymophola). The general system, however, is not
explained.
