Dr. S. B. Vernekar's tragic death

Praj~naabhaaratii Dr. S. B. Varnekar, a noted Sanskrit scholar and
Mahaakavi(age 79), died in a car accident in Nagpur. He met with the
accident in
Nagpur on 9th April 2000, at about 16.00, when he was going in a car
with his wife and a friend. A heavy vehicle dashed against his car. Dr.
Varnekar and others were seriously injured and were rushed to the
hospital where he died at about 2.00 today. His wife is still in a
critical condition.
The Sanskrit World has lost a great propagator of Sanskrit in this
Sanskrit Year.
