Cape Comorin (Kanyakumari) in Greek Texts

Dear Colleagues

Sujatha Stephens asked about Kanya Kumari in Greek sources. The southern
tip of India in mentioned in the Periplus maris Erythraei 58f. as Komarei
and in the Geography of Ptolemy 7, 1, 9 as Komaria, which is explained by
Ptolemy to be both town and cape.
