Thank you for your reply.  Like you, I think I'll hold off at this point.
I'm afraid that your remarks on Rushdie, Mayo, Gandhi, etc., confirm my
sense that we are miles apart in our understanding and interpretation of
the literature, politics, and history of 20th century India.
