The same RV 8.43 says at 3 that Agni chews on, devours forests:
		*vanAni bapsati*
At 8.43.7 Agni's diet is said to consist of herbs and trees:
		*dhAsIm ... oSadhIr bapsat ... tarunIH*
At 8.43.22 Agni is offered ghee.
