Andrew O. Fort provided the title of  the Journal of the American Academy
of Religion  article by James Lochtefeld,  "The Visva Hindu Parishad and
the Roots of Hindu Militancy."  The issue is volume 62 / 2 (Summer 1994):
587-602.   His references list a number of interesting-sounding articles on
warrior ascetics and fighting ascetics.
