                Readership in Modern South Asian History

The electors indent to proceed to an election to the Readership in Modern
South Asian History, with effect from 1 Oct. 1993 or such later date as may
be arranged.  The stipend of the reader will be on the scale which is at
present #25,969 to #29,348 per annum.  The readership is associated with a
non-stipendiary professorial fellowship at St Antony's College.

Applications (ten copies, or one from overseas candidates), naming three
referees, should be received not later than 1 March 1993 by the Registrar,
University Offices, Wellington Square, Oxfore OX1 2JD, from whom futher
particulars may be obtained.
